Abstract

“Stanislavski in the Voice Studio” explores the reciprocal relationship between Stanislavski’s system and voice training and the benefits of their mutual connection. McNish includes innovative adaptations of the exercise, “Exaggeration Circle” and Louis Colaianni’s “Phonetic Pillow” technique to playfully and actively guide students to connect sound with playable tactics in order to achieve an objective. “Stanislavski in the Voice Studio” provides instructors with simple solutions to bring objective work into vocal warm-ups and vocal intention to their work with objectives.
