Abstract
This paper summarises key BT standards activities in the area of broadband customer premises equipment (CPE), in particular set-top boxes and in-home networking. The paper firstly describes activities in the Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) Forum on middleware, IP infrastructure, copy protection and in-home wireless networks. It then goes on to despict the CPE activities in the Full-Service VDSL Forum, which is establishing an end-to-end multiservice video delivery platform. These standards will help to drive a range of CPE devices, capable of being connected to BT's broadband networks.
