Abstract

Median arcuate ligament syndrome is a rare disorder characterized by compression of the celiac axis and plexus that is both challenging to diagnose and treat. Recently, laparoscopic approaches to median arcuate ligament release (MALR) have been described, with promising outcomes, emphasizing the importance of ligament release, in conjunction with celiac plexus ganglionectomy for postoperative symptom relief. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate our institutional experience and outcomes with laparoscopic MALR using a standardized approach for the diagnostic workup, surgical technique, and perioperative management for patients with suspected median arcuate ligament syndrome.
