Abstract
The article describes Slovene military terminology from the perspective of terminology standardization as a component of standardization process established in the Ministry of Defence and the Slovenian Armed Forces, and as one of the major challenges of terminology work. Based on theoretical findings and analyses of terminology management in some international and national systems that boast long-standing practice of military terminology standardization, the basic components of an efficient system are identified. By comparing the current standardization process within the Ministry of Defence and the Slovenian Armed Forces and past experiences in standardizing Slovene military terminology, the author explores systemic elements required for efficient terminology standardization and offers a model of its organization.
