Abstract

By using a conventional bomb calorimeter and a technique of burning pure C 60on a gramscale in a mini-crucible, the standard massic energy of combustion of C 60was determined: Δ c u= − (36036.06 ± 6.04) J·g −1. The corresponding thermodynamic functions at T= 298.15 K were derived for C 60: Δ c H m o(cr) = − (25970.07 ± 9.67) kJ·mol −1, Δ f H m o(cr) = (2359.47 ± 9.72) kJ·mol −1, and Δ f H m o(g) = (2588 ± 12) kJ·mol −1. These results were compared with experimental values in the literature.
