Abstract

France-based Texsys has announced details of its performance measurement system for wind farms, Actem. The standalone generic system can provide synchronised and accurate data in order to monitor a windfarm at anytime and from any place. Data are acquired within a 1s cycle directly from power output and the metereological mast (no turbine turbulence disturbance occurs as in the case of a nacelle-based anemometer). Data can be displayed in realtime at a remote office with an instantly updated interface for quick performance analysis. Events are logged as well and defined alarms triggered when there is a problem. A replay function helps the user to quickly and accurately detect and understand a problem and how to intervene. The system has been developed by Texsys in partnership with ADEME (French Government Agency of Environment and Energy Sustainability). This is a short news story only.
