Abstract

Abstract A well-known growth modeling technique, stand table projection, can be combined with a new data management tool, the electronic spreadsheet, to provide a powerful yet simple-to-use method for predicting future stand structure. Availability of the spreadsheet on a microcomputer provides any forest manager with a means of estimating the future timber resource. Limitations of stand table projection should be kept in mind, however. North J. Appl. For. 2:55-56, June 1985.
