Abstract

Through interviews with providers and other professionals in maternity health care, our team sought to identify multi-level determinants of maternal health disparities and factors that contribute to sub-optimal maternal outcomes for Black women in Alabama. Black women are three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than White women. AL has the third worst maternal mortality ratio in the US.
