Staging in the formation of multiwalled carbon nanotubes from brown peatmoss under mechanical activation

Abstract

The stage of the formation of multiwalled carbon nanotubes with a diameter of 10 to 70 nm as a result of the mechanochemical treatment for 1–27 h of amorphous carbon prepared by pyrolyzing brown peatmoss at 950°C. The formation of carbon nanotubes is demonstrated to take place in an array of activated particles.
