Abstract

The curves of plastic flow of sintered composites with the matrix of Al–12Si alloy and Sn inclusions were studied. The investigated materials were prepared by sintering of the mixtures of sprayed powders of Al–12Si alloy and tin. The flow curves were obtained under the compression test. It was established that the plastic flow of the investigated materials has a staged character with alternating linear and parabolic stages. The coefficient of strain hardening was constant during each stage of plastic flow of the composites. However, its value was decreased with increasing number of the stages. In the case of sintered composites the number of the stages of plastic flow can reach 8.
