Abstract

Nova Southeastern University and the Broward County Board of County Commissioners engaged in a cooperative agreement to build a joint-use library to serve the citizens of Broward County and the students, faculty, and staff of Nova Southeastern University. Two institutions show that together they can provide more, and better, services to their constituents than they can separately. The authors have discussed one of the earlier challenges to making this joint-use library successful-creating a staff plan, recruiting, hiring, and training staff. The authors describe recruitment and hiring library staff for a joint-use library.
