Abstract
Double track or two mode meandering alluvial channel usually exists between braded or plural mode meandering channel in the upstream and single mode meandering channe in the downstream. This paper deals with stable cndition of double mode meandering, based mainly on field observation and field data, and finds such results that the double track meandering is maintained by systematical structure of existences of a single mode main channel, a sub-channel and stable inter-junctions, and that the unstability is brought by the increase of meandering intensity of the main channel. These results are considered to be the key points at practical application in channel training works.
