Abstract

Electrospun mixed Zr1−x Ce x O2 nanofibers were used to assess both the activity in the Deacon process and the morphological stability of these model catalysts under harsh HCl oxidation conditions. CeO2 nanofibers are morphologically unstable, while Zr doping stabilizes CeO2 nanofibers. Already 30 % of Ce results in high activity of Zr1−x Ce x O2 nanofibers.
