Abstract

The sandstone rock wall called “Pastýřska stena” at Děcin (northern Bohemia), threatens by its inferior stability the road and buildings situated along its foot. A detailed geotechnical investigation of the rock wall made 20 years ago and now completed, yielded the data necessary for the project of its stabilization by anchoring. The paper describes the principles of static analysis of the rock wall stability and of the individual unstable blocks, as well as the computation of the anchoring forces. The project is being realized at the present time. About 600 anchors of different type will be mounted on the rock wall.
