Abstract

This paper investigates the state-feedback control problem for the discrete-time interval type-2 (IT2) fuzzy systems. The IT2 fuzzy controller can be characterized by two predefined functions, and the membership functions together with the number of the IT2 controller fuzzy rules can be chosen freely. Using Lyapunov stability theory, sufficient criteria of asymptotic stability are derived for the discrete-time IT2 fuzzy-model-based systems. Based on the criterion, the desired IT2 state-feedback controller is designed to guarantee the asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system. Finally, a practical example is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed design scheme.
