Abstract
This paper proposes integral linear quadratic Gaussian (ILQG) control approach for frequency stabilization of multi-area connected smart grid. This controller is designed based on multi-area tie-in smart grid populated with PHEVs. The controller is improved version of linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) controller with an integral action. The motivation for designing the controller is to stabilize the frequency deviation in an acceptable range. The performance is evaluated using Matlab Simulink. The results show that the ILQG controller ensures high performance for frequency stabilization of multiarea interconnected smart grid.
