Abstract

Two popular models of mathematical biology with continuous dynamics are considered. Non standard finite difference schemes are proposed for these models. The question of existence of equilibria of corresponding discrete dynamical systems is examined. Sufficient conditions on parameters for stability of equilibrium solutions are presented. Results are compared with their continuous counter parts wherever possible. Examples are presented to illustrate the results and simulations are provided to visualize the examples.
