Abstract

In this paper a two-dimensional stability analysis of multiblock structured algorithms is performed. Multiblock structured algorithms are analyzed when an explicit multistage time stepping algorithm is employed and frozen internal boundary conditions are given at interfaces. Linear diffusion and advection-diffusion model problems are investigated in a 2-D domain with one interface. Experiments are also carried out using a multiblock Euler method for solving the flow around a 4-block airfoil grid.
