Abstract

Although the high-temperature superconductivity amorphous metal core distribution transformers (HTS AMDT) have the advantage of lower no-load losses over orientation silicon-steel distribution transformers (OSDT), a high cost level is inevitable because of lower saturation flux density compared with that of OSDT. In this paper, the static and dynamic characteristics of sample cores have been measured under different temperatures. The testing platform was set up to analyze the cores magnetic function at normal operation and limited temperature. The experimental results suggest that the magnetic characteristics are almost stable. All the testing results and analysis above are helpful to substitute imported amorphous alloy metal strip with the domestic product and reduce the manufacturing cost of HTS AMDT.
