Abstract
Effects of collisional trapped electron dynamics on the incompressible ballooning mode and electromagnetic corrections to the trapped ion modes have been investigated in terms of a semilocal kinetic dispersion relation. The ballooning mode is subject to strong collisional stabilization. The trapped ion modes are suppressed when the plasma β exceeds the ideal ballooning limit.
