Abstract

Automatic analysis of the interictal epileptic potentials recorded with chronically implanted depth electrodes from 7 patients with partial epilepsies was performed. The location of the epileptogenic zone was proven by the disappearance of seizures following its surgical removal. The rate of interictal spikes from the epileptogenic zone showed the highest stability. The relation between local level of epileptogenicity and autonomy of spiking across different physiological and artificially created conditions is stressed.
