Abstract

We ccnsider a Goodwin-type model for cyclic gene systems involving endproduct repression. The model is described by a very general system of functic nal differential equations which include as special cases continuous analogues of cyclic models studied previously via computer simulation by other investigators (Fraser & Tiwari, 1974). We establish global stability of equilibrium solutions with arguments which are valid for any number (odd or even) of genes in the cyclic loop.
