Abstract

An investigation is made of the stability of the characteristics of Q-switched radiation from continuously pumped neodymium-doped aluminum garnet lasers operated under stable periodic conditions in systems with Q-switching and cavity dumping. The ranges of stable operation of periodically Q-switched lasers are determined analytically. The dependences of the fluctuations of the maximum pulse power P/sub m/ and pulse duration on the pump fluctuations and losses are determined. It is shown that a stability of P/sub m/approx.10/sup -2/% is technically feasible.
