Abstract

The stability of colloidal dispersion of ferricoxychloride (FeOCl) in the presence of selected inorganic anions (chlorides, sulfates and hexacianoferrates) has been studied by a potentiometric titration technique. Stability of colloidal FeOCl as a function of inorganic anion concentration and solution pH was investigated. Dependence of the critical concentration of coagulation (CCC) on the solution pH was determined for all studied anions. Using these dependences, the regions of coagulation and stability of FeOCl sol were determined. It has been shown that the critical concentrations of coagulation decrease with increasing pH.
