Abstract

1976 Safonov and Athans extended results of Anderson and Moore from 1971 on stability margins for single-input processes with concentrated parameters and closed loop design by minimization of a quadratic performance criterion to multi-input processes with concentrated parameters. Wong, Stein and Athans clarified furtheron 1978, how the weighting matrices of the performance criterion are influencing the stability margins, giving by this better estimates on those margins. This paper shows, that as in the single-input case (Tolle 1979a) the relationships for the multiple-input case can be generalized to certain distributed parameter processes too.
