Abstract

Banyan Mountain unstable rock is one of the major natural disaster prevention project in Hubei Province, its deformation recently intensified, and dilapidation and landslide may occur at any time, so the evaluation and optimization design on phase II unstable rock were developed. Considering various load situation, unstable rock body stability was evaluated by transfer coefficient method. To control No.IIW and No.IIIW unstable rock body, explosion cutting and anti-rock fall engineering were carried on after site exploration and line-laying several times. The cutting slope ratio was calculated, the slope stability after cutting was checking, and shot crete bolting was set to protect cutting-off slope facedes. Rock fall barrier soil dam was layout and designed in cutting site protection area to intercept rock fall from hazard rock slope and blasting. At the same time, chute systems, transport platforms and a simple construction road to mountaintop were designed to transport cutting-off rocks and mechanism equipments. Actual Engineering control effect is good, it can provide reference for later monitoring and similar project management.
