Abstract

A series of covalent sulfur compounds and metallic salts of methyldithiocarbamate were evaluated for their potential effectiveness as remedial decay-control agents. Each of the 12 chemicals was evaluated for its stability under storage and its ability to produce volatile methylisothiocyanate in buffer solutions. Two metallic salts and two covalent compounds showed promise as wood fumigants. These compounds may provide safe alternatives to currently registered liquid fumigants. © 1989, Walter de Gruyter · Berlin · New York
