Abstract

We investigate stability and interactions of spatial solitons in a model of two linearly coupled nonlinear optical waveguides with a phase-velocity difference between them. By means of systematic simulations, we confirm conjectures about stability of different branches of solitons in the system. Additionally, a stable branch into which unstable solitons evolve is identified. Interactions between solitons are studied too. It is found that outcome of the interaction depends upon the initial separation and the asymmetry parameter.
