Abstract

This paper investigates the stability of both linear and nonlinear switched systems with sequence-based average preceding dwell time (SBAPDT) and sequence-based average subsequent dwell time (SBASDT). Different from existing work, we take the sequence of switch events into consideration. These two new analysis methods have the potential of reducing the conservativeness of the threshold time in continuous- and discrete-time systems. A comparative numerical example is also given to demonstrate the advantages of the new approaches. It shows that the designed controllers and calculated average dwell time thresholds are better than other methods.
