Abstract

A new mathematical framework is proposed for stability analysis of large-scale nonlinear discrete-time systems with delay. Such a system or process often arises in applications of pseudo-gradient and other optimization algorithms. By employing the theory of difference inequalities, a comparison theorem in the context of vector Lyapunov-like functions are developed. This comparison theorem is applied to study various stability properties of the large-scale (linear or nonlinear) discrete-time sytems with delay. An example is given to demonstrate the results.
