Abstract

Based on the case of a high soft rock slope in Xixiang County, Hanzhong City, the process of slope instability is analyzed by combining numerical analysis with monitoring data. Through the analysis, it is found that the slope has experienced two stages of accelerated deformation and failure. Under the triggering effect of rainfall, the slope soil softens and finally leads to landslide occurrence. At the same time, combined with the analysis of monitoring data, the strength reduction method is used to analyze the stability of soft rock slopes under the condition of rainfall infiltration. The study of the example slope shows that the instability of the soft rock slope under the condition of rainfall infiltration is the partial collapse of the surface layer of the slope at the initial stage of rainfall. With the increase in rainfall duration, the form of instability is the combination of local layer collapse and overall sliding.
