Abstract

This paper investigates the detailed operating principles of V2 controlled buck converter operating in pseudo-continuous conduction mode (PCCM), based on which the discrete time model is established to explore its stability. Furthermore, introducing the internal and external ramp compensation, operation regions of the converter under different internal compensation coefficient, external compensation slope and equivalent series resistance of output capacitor can be obtained while effects of two ramp compensation approaches on transient performances of V2 controlled PCCM buck converters are compared, which provides guidance for engineering design. Finally, theoretical analysis is verified by simulation results.
