Abstract

This paper studies the problems of stabilization via static output feedback (SOF) for a class of nonlinear systems represented by T-S fuzzy models. Based on the common quadratic Lyapunov functions, sufficient conditions for the existence of SOF fuzzy controllers are presented in terms of a set of bilinear matrix inequalities (BMIs), which contain less matrix inequalities than some of the existing results. An improved path-following method is provided to compute the related BMIs. Finally, the efficiency and merits of the proposed approach are shown through a numerical example.
