Abstract

Published data are generalized on different research methods for structural characterization of the nearest surrounding of trivalent and tetravalent actinide ions in aqueous solutions of their salts under standard conditions. The structural parameters such as coordination numbers, interparticle distances, the parameters of the second coordination sphere, and the types of ionic association are discussed. The quantitative characteristics of hydrated complexes of poorly known trivalent actinide ions are determined on the basis of comparative analysis with lanthanide ions.
