Abstract

Geographical position deeply determines the character of a people. "We built our house in the middle of the road", as Jovan Cvijić has described the Serbian geopolitical position. In World War II - between London and Moscow - Serbs have faced the peak of that trauma. Our allies have turned our two anti-fascist movements into internal enmity, which, even after two thirds of a century, is not moving towards national reconciliation. The drama is that this trauma is a vital problem in the face of the challenges posed by the new power relations of the East and the West.
