Abstract

Current activities at the Synchrotron Radiation Center are summarized. The 1 GeV storage ring has a 95 + % operating efficiency, with average accelerated currents in excess of 150 mA. Eleven beamlines are in operation, and nine more are scheduled to be completed by June 1988. Plans for the future include additional beamlines and improvements to the ring, along with special user facilities for research with transuranic materials and laser synchrotron experiments. Work has also begun on an industrial support center for companies engaged in research and development activities related to X-ray lithography.
