Abstract

AbstractAlthough all machine tool manufacturers advertise highest accuracies: No machine is immune to minimum systematic geometrical errors. This becomes particularly clear in the case of 5‐axis machining centers, where geometrical deviations can occur in the linear axes as well as in the rotation axes. Here, many small geometrical errors quickly add up and create production inaccuracies, which can endanger the dimensional accuracy of machined components in the case of very tight tolerances.
