Abstract

The donor (D) acceptor (A) architecture of squaraine-fullerene conjugate (SQ-Full) was developed for single-component organic solar cell (SC–OSCs) devices. The SQ-Full dyad showed three absorption bands centered around 330 nm, 396 nm, and 712 nm, extending to 850 nm. We have fabricated SC-OSCs and achieved an overall power conversion efficiency of 5.21% after solvent vapor annealing (SVA) of the active layer. This is the highest efficiency available in the reported literature for small molecules and squaraine-based SC-OSC.
