Abstract
In the previous chapters, we considered knowing what should be in place on a base build as the main reference point for troubleshooting what had changed. This knowledge is based on changes that SharePoint makes to the Windows operating system’s file system and registry before any solutions or customizations are made to the farm or any of its web applications, site collections, and web sites. We went into some detail about the backend SQL Server and looked at both, supported and unsupported, changes to SQL. We also reviewed some of the changes that are needed on SQL to get SharePoint working and to keep SQL performance optimized; but I forgot to mention setting the maximum memory that the SQL server will utilize. So, we will definitely cover that in this chapter.
