Abstract

An algorithm is proposed for springback compensation and modification for doubly curved plate, and it is established by a combination method of theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and forming experiment. Calculation equation for curvature after springback compensation is obtained based on an elastic-perfectly plastic biaxial bending model. Interpolation processing and Bezier surface blending methods are used to describe the shape of die surface after springback compensation. Based on the shape of die surface, numerical simulations and forming experiments are carried out for multi-point forming process. Simultaneously, Comparative simulations and experiments of multi-point forming process without springback modification are conducted. Simulation and experimental results show that the compensation method may effectively control the errors caused by springback in multi-point forming of doubly curved plate.
