Abstract

he disease, we classified the inflammatory behaviour (B1, ienna Classification). Only one patient displayed mutations n the NOD2 gene (heterozigosis R702W). The treatment as medical with corticosteroids and polymeric formula nd no emergency surgery was required. During follow-up one of the patients had presented extraintestinal maniestations or recurrence of bleeding after treatment was tarted. Conclusion. Overt ALGB has been reported in 1.4% of dult CD as the initial manifestation of the disease. Previous tudies have shown that ALGB can occur in relatively young opulations with CD as an initial manifestation. The site of leeding is located in the ileum with isolated or single ulcer nd diagnosis must be confirmed with histological evaluation. olonscopy and ileoscopy are necessary for diagnosis and an need several “endoscopic-looks” before that the source f bleeding can be identified. A conservative approach can be uggested as a first line treatment, but surgery is inevitable n patients suffering massive bleeding and in patients with ecurrent bleeding.
