Abstract
The R.S.M. Sprayer, a new lightweight air blast sprayer made in Denmark, was compared with the Speed Sprayer and a high pressure hand gun on small, medium, and large apple trees. Coverage was measured by analyzing leaves from bottom, middle, and top portions of the trees for lead following the application of lead arsenate. The most uniform coverage over the trees was obtained by the hand gun application, followed by the Speed Sprayer, while the R.S.M Sprayer gave slightly less uniform coverage. The R.S.M Sprayer produced an even, small droplet deposit on the leaf surfaces.
