Abstract

Older persons in a clinical-pathologic study rated adverse childhood experiences; 192 subsequently died and underwent a uniform neuropathologic examination. Higher level of childhood emotional neglect was associated with an increased likelihood of chronic cerebral infarction, suggesting that chronically feeling unloved may be a risk factor for cerebral infarction.
