Abstract

In the current context, the development of tourist destinations has come to occupy an important space as an alternative to face the need to renew the economies of countries, territories, and communities to ensure sustainable growth, where economic development can be combined with the preservation of identity and the improvement of the quality of life of its inhabitants. For a long time in the tourism market, the demand was marked by massive packages linked mainly to the so-called sun and beach tourism. This study focused on analyzing the importance of mathematics in the development of tourism projects with an agricultural focus. The results indicate that the interest has moved more to the trend of individual tourism that demands a more diversified offer, where tourism products related to the historical heritage of countries and regions, their cultural traditions, natural attractions, economic, gastronomic, handicraft and many other activities are very relevant. These new motivations have encouraged not to offer more products, but to offer innovative products that provide new consumption possibilities, which assumes a conception that must take into account the new needs of the demand, leading to the development of quality, active, diversified, and responsible tourism.
