Abstract

This article asks if the Westphalian model, where one country does not interfere in the sport decision and policy formation of other countries, and an athlete must be a citizen of the country of the national Olympic committee or sport federation in order to represent the country in an international competition is appropriate for today's modernized, and globalized, complex sport world.
