Abstract

The Green’s functions formalism together with the new algorithm in operating with ζ-functions has been used to obtain the three-peaked spectrum of spontaneous emission of an atom in a weakly damped cavity. The single-peaked spectrum and exponential decay law with the short (τs ~ 1/Γ c) and long (τ1 ~Γ c/g 2) decay times have been shown to exist in the strongly damped cavity with its passive linewidthΓ c.
