Abstract
Analysis of the Raman VV-VH CH − contours of 5 mol/Q NaSCN-H 2O gave an orientational correlation time of ≈10 −11 s and a vibrational relaxation function which obeys the Kubo-Anderson model with motional narrowing. It appears that the elongated shape of SCN − permits interaction with many water molecules.
