Abstract
The clinical features, complications and results of treatment in 106 patients suffering from 165 radiologically proved attacks of spontaneous pneumothorax have been reviewed. The preferable form of treatment is early and rapid re-expansion of the lung by intercostal intubation of the pleural space accompanied by some form of pleurodesis. In some instances, thoracotomy may be required.
