Abstract
An investigation of the stability of stationary field states in the presence of planar arbitrarily oriented polarization perturbations is used to demonstrate that a two-pass optical system with a nonlinear isotropic medium and a rotatable mirror can exhibit polarization bistability and multistability, and also processes close to spontaneous oscillations.
