Abstract

The basic problem in the design of molecular magnets is how to assemble unpaired electrons and align their spins on the macroscopic scale. One line of investigation involves heterospin systems consisting of transition metal ions and organic free radicals as ligands. Results are reported for such a system (see figure) in which the heterospin system forms a 2‐D network, which increases Tc compared to a 1‐D network. magnified image
